DESCRIPTION
Spice Tree, from four-time winner of Whisky Magazine’s Innovator of the Year award Compass Box who are renowned for very high quality award winning Scotch whiskies, is 100% malt whisky sourced from Northern Highland distilleries (notably and primarily the Clynelish distillery 10 - 12 years old).
Compass Box's innovative techniques use primary maturation in a mix of first fill and refill American oak. Secondary maturation is in heavily toasted new French oak heads, with three different methods of toasting being used.
The Spice Tree is a very rich malt whisky, suitable for after dinner sipping, as an accompaniment to certain cheese, and also in cocktails.
When it was originally released in 2005 The Spice Tree received rave reviews, however production was halted with a legal threat by the Scotch Whisky Association against Compass Box for their pioneeringe use of highest quality French Oak inner staves.
After three years Compass Box have developed a new maturation process that has resulted in similar, if not superior results.
This whisky is from the award-winning Compass Box Whisky Company, whose unique methods of whisky making known as 'artisanal'.

OFFICIAL TASTING NOTES
Big sweet aromas of clove, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.

Full round sweet palate with spice and vanilla leading to a long finish.

It's rich, bold flavours mean it suitable as an after dinner drink, as an accompaniment to certain cheeses, and also in cocktails.
