CAMBUS 1993 AGED 25 YEARS

From one of Scotland's first grain whisky distilleries, which operated for 157 years before falling silent in 1993, Cambus is very hard to find as a single grain whisky since most of the production was used to make blended Scotch whisky.

This 25 year old was distilled in 1993 and is the produce of a single cask under the Old Particular brand (Douglas Laing & Co.), a range of exceptional single single malt and single grain whiskies bottled at a premium strength without the addition of any artificial colouring.

Scotch whiskies for the Old Particular are individually selected by Douglas Laing from their extensive stocks of casks. 

OFFICIAL TASTING NOTES
Nose: Raisins, charred oak with burnt brown sugar and mocha.
Palate: Sweetly sherried with a chocolate torte character and cinnamon.
Finish: Lingers with plums, golden syrup and dark chocolate.

ABOUT THE DISTILLERY
Situated in Tullibody, not far from Stirling, Cambus distillery was converted from a mill in 1806 before registering as a distillery in 1813.

The distillery operated for over 150 years before closing in 1993 and is now a cask filling store, with the land being used for warehousing Scotch whisky under bond.

Cambus was amongst the first grain whisky distilleries in Scotland, and at one stage was one of the largest.

The distillery was sometimes referred to as Tullibody.
