Blair Athol 1995 Aged 23 Years
0 products
This 'single cask' Blair Athol aged 23 years is the purest form of single malt and has been drawn from just a single oak cask.
Blair Athol is uncommon as a single malt as most production is used in blended whisky, in particular Bells. For this purpose most of the spirit is matured in bourbon casks, unlike this single cask which was matured in an ex-Sherry butt.
It is one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries, operating since 1798 in the picturesque town of Pitlochry.
TASTING NOTES:
Nose: Raspberries, apples, and a hint of moss.
Palate: Strawberries, salted caramel, and spice.
Finish: Long, with a lingering pepper note.
