| Mackmyra was Sweden’s sole whisky distillery when it was built in 1999. It is located in Gävle, around 100 miles north of Stockholm. Brukswhisky, a light whisky, was for a period the company’s core offering. It is primarily matured in ex-bourbon barrels but also includes whisky aged in Sherry and Swedish oak casks. TASTING NOTES: Nose: Butterscotch, citrus, pear, Liquorice, banana and mint. Palate: Fresh, fruity and peppery. A youthful, fruity flavour with a spicy taste of toffee. |
