    Once one of Scotland’s largest distilleries, Dumbarton closed in 2002, limited by old fashioned 1930’s equipment. The site (now dunnage warehouses) was protected by “Scotch Watch” - a gaggle of 100 Chinese geese which guarded the distillery grounds from 1959 to 2012.

    Once one of Scotland’s largest distilleries, Dumbarton closed in 2002, limited by old fashioned 1930’s equipment. The site (now dunnage warehouses) was protected by “Scotch Watch” - a gaggle of 100 Chinese geese which guarded the distillery grounds from 1959 to 2012.

    Dumbarton single grain whisky is very hard to find; the spirit was rarely released in its pure form, with almost the entire production being used in the Ballentines whisky blend.


    TASTING NOTES:
    Nose: A pale gold coloured whisky with a nose of beeswax, summer fruits and vanilla.
    Palate: Candied oranges and caramel.
    Finish: Satisfying; medium-length with a touch of sweet oak.
