This 30 year old, distilled in 1987, was aged in oak until 2017 when it was selected for bottling by Glasgow-based specialists Hunter Laing & Co under their Sovereign range. Sovereign is a range of exceptional and old single cask, single grain Scotch whiskies.
The whisky is bottled naturally from the cask, without the addition of water, colouring and without chill filtration - a process used on commercial whiskies to prevent cloudiness appearing at low temperatures.
OFFICIAL TASTING NOTES
Nose: A pale gold coloured whisky with a nose of beeswax, summer fruits and vanilla.
Palate: Candied oranges and caramel.
Finish: Satisfying; medium-length with a touch of sweet oak.
